Where Do Ideas Come From? Are They Actually Ours?
When we pay close attention, it appears that ideas don’t originate from us; they seem to emerge from a universal source, perhaps a quantum field. I have watched ideas emerge like bubbles rising from the deep unknown, so I know they are not “mine.” I’ve seen several people share the same spark, discovering the same idea at the same time. Ideas cannot truly be owned. So, the true skill lies in knowing how to hunt and capture these fleeting possibilities, and how to put them to work for us.
More practically applied to creative business, this approach shifts everything; by releasing ego’s claim to ownership, we let go of possessiveness and foster curiosity and collaboration, cultivating better outcomes with clients, colleagues, and teams. For decades, I’ve honed this approach, guiding projects that embrace ideas as shared gifts, weaving meaning and innovation into every endeavor.
