Experiences make memories; interruptions wish to be forgotten.
There is nothing like being there and using all six senses. When something far outside the ordinary stimulates us, new pathwayss are formed in our synaptic mindspace and automatically bookmarked for value. New pathways lead to insights and attitudes.
We call this making memories.
Expo 2017 Astana, held from June 10 to September 10, 2017, was a major international specialized exhibition themed "Future Energy," marking the first time such an event was hosted in Central Asia and the former Soviet Union. The event attracted over 3.8 million visitors and featured participation from 115 countries and 22 international organizations, showcasing innovations in sustainable energy and technology. The centerpiece of the Expo was Nur-Alem, the world’s largest spherical building, which housed a Museum of Future Energy and served as a symbol of Kazakhstan’s commitment to a green economy.
Over 3.8 million international Visitors were given insight via interactive immersive and educational installations into the diverse possibilities of sustainable energy generation and implementation in the areas of solar, wind, biomass, and kinetics.
For the Expo in Astana, Kazakhstan, I worked as a strategic creative director, storyteller and experiential lead, bridging ideation with technical execution together with Acht imaging, and Kunzberg , curating, designing, and producing the 10,000-square-meter exhibition on biomass, kinetics, solar, and wind energy under the theme of "Future Energy." As we developed this project in Germany, word got around and clients begin to contact us directly with creative requests for experiential AR, VR, and unusual immersive ideation projects. This two year project led directly to the creation of The Department of Wow.
We created the 720° spherical content with 3D models composed into Unreal Engine.
